Randy Joy
|
Randy began his diving career not in the pretty blue Caribbean, but in black water Texas lakes when he joined a search and recovery team in the mid 1970's. Randy has stayed in public safety all his adult life, and over the years has worked in law enforcement at the Federal, County, and City levels, and worked in Emergency Medical Services on private and public ambulances. Randy taught for over 10 years at Tarrant County College, both in the Police Academy and the Paramedic program. |

Now living in Wise County, Randy works fulltime at the Wise County Sheriff's
Department where he wears several hats, but in 2001 he was made Director of the
Wise County Sheriff's Department Dive Team. Combining his love of teaching,
public safety, and scuba, Randy is one of just a handful of divers in north
Texas that is a PADI Distinctive Specialty Course Instructor in Public Safety
Diving.
Randy loves to dive, and the weather and location don't make much difference.
Some of the more interesting dives he's had have been in 40 degree water.
