I was first introduced
to the underwater world while on a family vacation to St. John USVI in
1972 and I have been hooked ever since. My family being located in and
around Panama City Beach, Florida further developed my love of the sea.
Eventually, I joined the United States Navy and served aboard Nuclear
Fast-Attack submarines during the waning days of the Cold War. I think
that I hold the shop record for the deepest dive, but I was driving a
submarine at the time. After the service and several life-altering
events I decided to finally become certified as a recreational diver. I
received my Open Water Certification in May 2006, and have continued my
education culminating in my Divemaster certification in June 2008.
I wanted to share my
love of the sea with others; therefore my daughter, Michelle, received
her Jr. Open Water Certification through We B Divin’ at the age of 11.
I would not have trusted her training to anyone else.
In the future I would
like to continue traveling and work on reef and inland waterway
conservation projects. |
