Palau
Joining us Tammy and David from Canada, Rainer and Sabine from Germany, and
Dick and Charlie from the U.S. Everyone blended together well for the week and
had a great time with the diving! Judy had 2 milestones this week with hitting
her 1000th dive as well as having her birthday. CONGRATULATIONS JUDY!! Angela
was very busy deciding which picture she was going to enter into the annual
Aggressor photo contest. Bob was the lone ranger and moving off the main group
to get some great shots. Kelly and her son John loved everything about the
diving and could not get enough. They promise to bring John’s wife next time. It
was a fantastic group, great divers and plenty of fun. Thank you everyone!
Sightings: We had a fantastic week of visuals! We started the week with the
famous World War II wrecks of Palau which gave us lionfish, tomato anemone fish,
giant clams and old artifacts such as helmets, rifles, depth charges and large
guns mounted both aft and stern. We had loads of sharks both grey reef and white
tips at Blue Corner, Ulong Channel and New Drop Off as well as the famous bait
ball out in front of Ulong Channel. At Peleliu we had a beautiful blue marlin
pass by us at West Wall and the marlin even stopped to take a look at us!! We
had all the usual residents visiting with the divers. We had our now famous
napoleon wrasse “Abah” visiting all the divers allowing for great photo
opportunities at Blue Corner! We had a giant wall of jacks pass through the
divers blocking out the sun giving everyone a great thrill!! The large schools
of black snapper and barracuda with pyramid butterfly fish were everywhere! Last
but not least we scored a hundred percent at German Channel with several visits
from the mantas!! Spectacular week!
Weather: The weather was great with virtually no rain and plenty of sunshine.
The waters were calm and the seas flat. The currents were just right.
Here are some of the fabulous
things we saw and some of the divers on the trip.
